This short film takes an impressionistic look at the journey taken by Sir Ernest Shackleton on the legendary explorer’s fated voyage to the Antarctic in 1914.

Shackleton kept a detailed diary during the expedition, which was the source of inspiration for the film’s narration, as performed by Dominic West.

Originally produced for Nowness and subsequently picked up by National Geographic for their Short Film Showcase.
